Euthanasia The legalization of euthanasia in Holland led to the unpermitted killing of between 900-1000 people per year and attempts to lower this number through tougher legislation have not succeeded . Will your Party oppose Parliamentary time being used for euthanasia? Return to top of page 10. Abortion There is widespread community concern about the high rate of abortions, reflected in recent federal debates in which both pro-life and pro-choice politicians have expressed their desire to see the abortion rate reduced. However, this desired reduction will not happen on its own. If elected, will your Party introduce mechanisms to better support women with an unexpected pregnancy and their partners such as independent counselling covering the options of adoption and raising the child?
